Dear Non-Profit Leader,
Your organization is undoubtedly making a huge contribution to improving our society. Thank you! Like you, I am a non-profit organizer. My organization is Getting Along Academy, gettingalong.com. I also authored a book, Letters to Mikey: Messages of Hope and Optimism for Young Americans. In both cases, my mission is to inspire hope and optimism in young Americans and give them every reason to believe in themselves and in America in the face of every reason not to!
After years of research into what keeps our society in a cycle of instability and underperformance, we’ve found that it boils down to a loss of trust in each other. People are remarkable, but our kids do not believe this. They grow cynical—and why wouldn’t they? So much negative news and anomalistic events overwhelm their minds. Here is why I write to you.
What if we could, rather easily, connect multiple nonprofits until the higher ideals and enlightened values of non-profits became America's cultural ethos?
Let me ask you when we go home and turn on the TV, doesn’t it seem as if all the good work being done is being wiped away somehow?
When answering the questions; what is America’s cultural ethos? Or what do we stand for? Do we get the answer we want? I’m afraid not, and it doesn't need to be this way.
I’ve searched for years and there is not one entity or movement that connects multiple nonprofits. In the for-profit world, there are many traditional networking groups. For example, vistage.com may be the largest.
By connecting non-profits via a networking group, we can redefine what being an American truly represents, which is goodness!
The type of remarkable goodness that is happening each day across America in non-profits!
Our country needs us. Together we could break out of our silos and be the rising tide that lifts all boats! Why would we let this opportunity slip away? All it would take is a few of us to get it going. Will you join me?
Sincerely, Glenn Cort
